Post Graduate Courses
Autumn 2021 and 2022 Humanimals (5 ECTS). Organised by Kristinn Schram and Katia Kjartansd6ttir, open for participation of students from The University of Iceland and The Iceland University of the Arts.
Autumn 2021 AnthroZoi:is – Culture, Power & Empathy Course devised and hosted by Snaebjornsd6ttir/Wilson involving multiple, international speakers. By examining the relations between humans and animals in specific contexts, we can usefully test many of the behaviours that shape our approach to ‘others’ we encounter in the world, be it individuals and groups, species, types or indeed environments and habitat. In this course, particular attention is given to artists and artworks addressing a wide variety of human/animal and environmental-related subjects, in the context of multiple fields, including popular culture, taxonomy, environmental degradation, animal rights, museology, bioethics, the anthropocene and the sixth mass extinction. Inevitably, this involves the close examination of a multitude of conceptual approaches and corresponding media. Open for participation of students from The University of Iceland and The Iceland University of the Arts.
